The Sixmilebridge man had already agreed an extension last year, and The Star report that he will now stay on until the end of 2017.
On television this past weekend, he had said that he agreed to stay in the role despite a disappointing 2014 which saw Clare lose out to Cork and Wexford in the Championship.
In 2013, Fitzgerald became the first man to win All-Ireland medals with Clare as a manager and player when the Banner lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup.
