Tubridy A Major Concern For Doonbeg Ahead Of Clare SFC Round Two

Doonbeg management say they will give county star David Tubridy every chance to prove his fitness ahead of this weekends second round of the Clare Senior Football Championship.

The Magpies key forward suffered a knee injury while on county duty and has been restricted to limited training with his club since the Banner’s championship exit.

The 2010 champions take on neighbours Cooraclare in the winners round, with a quarter final spot on offer for the victors.

Manager Brian Shanahan says if Tubridy is unavailable, it’s up to others to provide the leadership needed.

Meanwhile Clondegad boss Michael Hehir is urging his squad to take the next step in their development as they prepare for a shot at the last eight.

They take on fellow parishoners Lissycasey in the winner round on Saturday, in what will be their second championship meeting in recent years.

The Ballynacally based outfit were semi finalists in the 2015 campaign and reached the quarter finals 12 months ago,

Hehir says it’s now time for them to start competing for titles.
