Munster GAA has postponed the reintroduction of seeding to the provincial football championship draw until 2027.
It comes after sustained pressure was put on by representatives of the four perceived weaker counties against the move which would have seen Cork and Kerry kept apart in the draw for next years semi finals.
A motion put forward by the Munster Council had seen league positions determining the seedings for the championship, but the Irish Examiner is now reporting that this will be paused to allow counties to improve their league standings ahead of the 2027 draw.
It means Clare will retain their position in a semi final pot for the draw having once again reached the provincial final this year
