Clare football manager Paul Madden says the rate his side turned the ball over in the first half was a critical factor behind their defeat in Round 2 of the National Football League.
Defeat against Westmeath means Clare are still searching for their first points in Division 3 this year.

After a bright start for the Banner, Westmeath closed the opening half strongly, outscoring Clare 1-6 to one point in the final ten minutes of the first period.
Madden says they were the architects of their own downfall with the amount of possession conceded through unforced errors.
