Eire Og have claimed yet another County Title to add to their trophy cabinet.
They secured the Under 21 B Football crown last night defeating Cratloe after extra time 0-20 to 2-7.
While it may have taken eighty minutes, there can be no doubting the townies were deserving winners over a gallant Cratloe.
Trading blows throughout a fiery contest that saw cards of all colours brandished, Eire Og kept Cratloe scoreless for the duration of extra time while adding seven points to their full-time total of 0-13.
Deadlocked at the interval 0-5 apiece, a superb Tadgh Lohan finish after a defensive error propelled the Blues into the lead.
Indiscipline, though, would ultimately prove the Blues’ downfall, with ten of Eire Og’s thirteen points in normal time coming from placed balls.
Another Cratloe green flag, this time from Eanna Collins did give the blues a two-point lead with just minutes to play, but successive Sean Perill frees brought the game to extra time.
It was one-way traffic from here to the end however, with Cian Howard’s second two-point free the highlight as Eire Og eased to the finish line to be crowned Under 21 B Champions for 2025.
