Cian Dillon says he has been thinking about his decision to retire from the inter county hurling set-up for the last couple of months.
The Crusheen man informed the management of the Clare Senior hurlers of his decision last evening.

He won All Ireland Senior and Under-21 Hurling titles with Clare, as well as a National League title as Joint Captain of the Banner in 2016.
Dillon says he thought about retiring in recent months, but feels the time is right to step away.
