Clare’s Minor hurlers have taken victory over Waterford in the second round of the Munster Championship campaign.
The Banner men welcomed the Deise to Cusack Park for the opener of a minor/senior double header.
Keelan Guyler scored Clare’s opening goal from a penalty, awarded when Mark Rodgers was brought down in the eighth minute, followed by a second goal just a minute later, this time from Rodgers himself.
Waterford scored a goal of their own before the half-time mark but it was Clare who held the lead at the half-way point – Clare’s 2-9 to Waterford’s 1-9.
The second half was a calmer affair in which both sides traded points while Clare secured their lead of the match.
A late second goal from Waterford was responded to by a third Banner goal, which left the full time score at Clare 3-21 to Waterford’s 2-14.
