A male youth was arrested at Shannon Airport this morning following an alleged incident on board an arriving flight.
The crew of Ryanair flight FR-4776 from Manchester was on approach to Shannon when the crew asked air traffic controllers to contact the ‘police’ and have them meet the aircraft when the landed.
The crew confirmed they had a passenger at the rear of the aircraft who was to have been drunk and shouting.
The flight landed at 7.20am and was met at the terminal by Airport Police officers and members of An Garda Síochána. The passenger was removed from the aircraft and arrested. He was conveyed to Shannon Garda station.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí attended the scene of a public order incident that occurred at Shannon Airport this morning, Monday 28th September 2026 at approximately 7:30am.
A male youth was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Co. Clare. Investigations are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for Ryanair said: “Crew on this flight from Manchester to Shannon called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard. Police met the aircraft upon landing at Shannon Airport, and the disruptive passenger was removed.”
The airline added: “Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a respectful and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption.”
