Hope has been expressed that all of East Clare would become unlocked for tourism if greater footfall can be generated at Quin Abbey.
The site currently falls under the remit of the OPW, however Clare County Council has committed to providing greater promotion of the site through the Visit Clare website.

750 people have already visited the site in September, making use of the audio tour available through the Quin Friary Visitor App.
Kilmurry Fianna Fáil Councillor, Alan O’Callaghan, says the attraction would have stagnated without the app.
