An Ennis councillor claims the town is being treated unfairly by the National Transport Authority.
It comes after Clare County Council has told municipal district representatives that a dedicated bus service within Ennis would present ‘significant challenges’ to local planners.
The NTA told an Oireachtas Transport Committee last month the size of the town justifies such a service, but that funding constraints are preventing it from beginning works.
Fine Gael councillor Johnny Flynn says a lack of bus services here has implications for the entire region’s long term transport strategy.
