Clare’s U20 All Ireland winning captain says management deserve huge credit for the manner in which they had them ready for their shot at glory.
Broadford’s Eoghan Gunning became the first Clare man since Tony Kelly in 2014 to captain the Banner to the crown, having also captained his county to the minor title.
It followed on from their dramatic Munster final win on penalties, with the ten point margin being their biggest victory of the season.
Gunning says they knew the year would not be complete without having both cups on the bus on the way home
Meanwhile one of Clare’s star defenders admits it is a dream come true to be an All Ireland champion again.
Sixmilebridge’s Matthew O’Halloran, son of Clare All Ireland winner Michael, says it is a special moment to emulate that achievement
