It’s claimed a season in the Tailteann Cup would not be a regressive step for Clare’s footballers.
There are just over two weeks to go until Paul Madden makes his official debut as Banner boss when they go to Dungarvan to take on Waterford in the opening round of the McGrath Cup on Friday January 2nd.

Clare’s route to Sam Maguire football in 2026 will require them to gain promotion in the National League along with outranking a Cork side who are currently in Division Two, or else taking down All Ireland champions Kerry in the Munster semi final.
Clare FM analyst Kieran Madigan says while one or both of those aims will be a target, they should not define how the upcoming season will be assessed.
