Newmarket on Fergus and Crusheen both recorded wins in todays double header of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship in Cusack Park.
Newmarket were 3-16 to 0-8 winners over Tubber to effectively book their place in the quarter final. They trailed at the break, but three second half goals saw them run out comfortable winners.
The other game was a much tighter affair, with an injury time point from Cathal Dillon sealing a 1-15 to 1-14 win for Crusheen over Kilmaley. It was Kilmaley who led at the break by 0-10 to 0-6, but a strong second half showing from Crusheen was given the perfect tonic with Conor O'Donnells goal almost straight after the restart. A Kilmaley goal from Daire Keane late on helped to level matters until Dillons point clinched the win.
