A motorcyclist is being treated in hospital for serious injuries following a single-vehicle road traffic incident in West Clare this morning.
The incident occurred at around 11.45am at on the N68 Ennis to Kilrush road at Tullycrine.
National Ambulance Service paramedics, Gardaí and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Kilrush station responded to the scene.
It’s understood that the motorcycle left the road and entered a field. The motorcyclist is said to have sustained serious injuries.
The HSE’s Cork-based Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS) air ambulance, Aeromed-01, was also requested to respond to the incident.
The injured man was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, that occurred on the N68 at Tullycrine, Kilrush, Co. Clare on Tuesday 14th April 2026 at approximately 11.45am.
The male driver of the motorcycle (aged in his 60’s) was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported at the time. Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
