Cratloe are the 2013 Senior Football champions capturing the Jack Daly Cup for the first time in their history.
They overturned a battling Doonbeg side in Cusack Park this afternoon on a final score of 0-10 to 0-07.
Man of the match Podge Collins opened the scoring in the game with a point from play in the third minute, before Brian Dillion quickly hit back with the equalizer a minute later.
Two points from Liam Markham put Cratloe ahead 0-03 to 0-01, before Doonbeg Captain David Tubridy pointed a free in the ninth minute, then adding his second on the 14th minute leveling matters again.
After a nervy and error ridden period for both sides, Cratloe closed out the half with three points, all from Cathal McInerney frees.
Barry Kelly’s half time whistle saw double scores on the board, Cratloe leading the Magpies 0-06 to 0-03.
On the restart it was another Tubridy free making it 0-06 to 0-04, however his counterpart on free taking duties, McInerney pointed a free, while Sean Collins raised a white flag from play putting four between them.
On the 38 minute mark Conor Downes pointed for the Magpies, bringing it back yet again to a three point game.
Cratloes scoring saw two more points from Martin Oige Murphy and Podge Collins, before Tubridy pointed two frees.
This contest wasn’t over until the final whistle, the Magpies never relented; Padraic Aherne testing the Cratloe defence with a close range shot deflecting for a 45 in the dying minutes.
But when full time hit, Cratloe were the Jack Daly champions, taking it with a final score of 0-10 points to 0-07.
Colm Collins side face a quick turnaround now as they take on Ballinacourty of Waterford in the Munster Semi final tomorrow (Sunday) at 2pm in Cusack Park.
