Clare Team Set To Make Waves At AFL Champions League Tournament

A Clare team will make history this weekend as the first Irish side to take part in the Women’s Australian Rules Champions League tournament.

West Clare Waves are a new club formed in November 2017 and had immediate success in winning the inaugural Irish Womens Draft Cup.

They now travel to Amsterdam to take part in the European tournament where teams from 22 different countries will compete.

Coach and Kilmihil native Michael Currane says the club has grown quickly in a short space of time.
