On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Clare mother, Grainne who shared her concern for her 14 year old son’s mental health issues. She described his current situation where he is suffering from anxiety as a result of the pandemic and this is resulting in him being unable to attend school. She highlighted her consistent efforts to seek treatment for her son through the child and adult mental health services along with psychologists and consultants throughout the county. Grainne vented her frustration regarding the long waiting list and wishes to highlight this issue for both herself and others across the county. Since the interview took place, Grainne has received a notification that an appointment has been scheduled for her and her son.
