A yellow wind warning for Clare comes into effect this afternoon.
Very strong and gusty southeasterly winds are forecast for this county, as well as Limerick, Galway, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Mayo and Sligo.

Met Éireann is warning of wave overtopping and flooding on coasts due to a combination of Spring tides, surge and very strong onshore winds, as well as difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches.
The alert comes into effect in Clare at 1 o’clock this afternoon and remains in place until 9 o’clock tonight.
