Strong winds, wave overtopping and flooding is expected in Clare over the coming hours, as a yellow wind warning comes into effect.
Met Éireann says a combination of Spring tides, surge and very strong onshore winds will lead to difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches.

The alert, which also covers Limerick, Galway, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Mayo and Sligo, came into effect in Clare at noon and remains in place until 9 o’clock tonight.
A separate rain warning is in effect for Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
