It’s claimed a previous public consultation on the proposed wastewater treatment plant for Lahinch and Ennistymon was ‘borderline misleading’.
The West Clare MD will write to Uisce Éireann calling for a new non-statutory consultation on the project, while Clare Senator Martin Conway last week called on the Government to instruct the water utility to do so.

Ennistymon Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty claims the plans included in the 2025 consultation did not accurately depict Uisce Éireann’s preferred site for the proposed plant.
He says there’s no public confidence in the project as things stand.
