Shannon Airport Announces Enhancement to Hand Luggage Rules

Passengers flying from Shannon Airport can now carry liquids, aerosols and gels in containers of up to two litres in their hand luggage.

The change replaces the previous 100-millilitre limit and follows upgrades to the airport’s high-tech 3D security screening system.

The new rules are already in effect, with passengers continuing to leave liquids and electronic devices inside their cabin bags at security.

Travellers are advised to check the rules at other airports before their return journey, with more information available at Shannon Airport’s website.
