SIPTU says contingency plans are in place to ensure emergency cover is provided in Clare during tomorrow’s ambulance strike.
Ambulance workers belonging to SIPTU, along with Unite the Union, are beginning industrial action today, which could lead to delays for some non-emergency ambulance callouts.
The dispute centres on recommendations relating to workers’ pay that have yet to be implemented.
Today’s work-to-rule will be followed by 24 hours of strike action tomorrow and a further two days next week.
SIPTU Ambulance Sector Organiser John McCamley has been telling Clare FM’s Morning Focus that members will respond to critical calls when required.
