Plans have been lodged for a major harbour-side housing development in East Clare.
The novel proposal could see 50 new homes delivered in Killaloe.
Applicant Ian Symington has submitted plans for a further 50 homes to be constructed in Harbour Village, Killaloe.
The development would consist of 20 three-bed homes, 9 four-bed homes, 12 two-bed apartments and 9 single bed apartments.
The project would also involve the demolition of an existing storage building to make way for the build on the 2 hectare site.
A Part V planning agreement has also been struck with the council , meaning up to ten of the units could become social or affordable housing.
The plans also provide for the delivery of an additional 119 parking spaces.
A flood risk assessment for the site says that based on discussions with the local business owners and the owners it has been determined that river and lake floods in the past 30yrs have not adversely affected the development site.
