Firefighters from Kilkee have resuscitated an unresponsive patient as there was no HSE ambulance available at the time.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, when the National Ambulance Service was alerted to an emergency call at an address at the time.

The Irish Examiner reports that the nearest ambulance at the time was 60km away in Ennis, as it’s understood the Kilrush-based ambulance was on another call at the time.
Gardaí and the fire service were alerted, and fire fighters administered CPR, and used a defibrillator to resuscitate the man who was subsequently flown to hospital.
