It’s hoped walking trails between Shannon and Sixmilebridge can be fully installed in the coming years.
€100,000 in Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme funding has been put towards the project, following a motion proposed at this week’s Shannon MD meeting by Fine Gael Coucillor, Tony Mulcahy to connect Shannon and Bunratty.

Cllrs John Crowe and Pat O’Gorman have long sought after a similar project between Bunratty and Sixmilebridge, with both projects now combined into one.
Shannon Fine Gael Coucillor, Tony Mulcahy, is optimistic the trail will be up and running in the current Municipal District’s lifetime.
