Its hoped the further rollout of a nationwide scheme will encourage more young people in rural Clare to pursue a STEM subject into third level education.
The OurKidsCode project is looking to achieve this goal by bringing various activities related to the subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics into parts of rural Ireland.

As part of the project in this county, children will assist in the activation of local Broadband Connection Points.
Jackie Dermody from DigiClare, says the programme provides a means for greater community involvement and has been very successful here so far.
