Ennis Gardaí are warning businesses to consider declining large cash exchanges, following a deception theft in the town.
A man handed over 500 euro in 20-euro notes, asking the cashier to change them into 50-euro notes.

The cashier became confused and handed back the original 500 euro as well, resulting in a theft.
Gardaí say this is a known distraction technique and are urging businesses to make staff aware of the scam.
