A firework has caused a fire inside an apartment in Shannon after being set off recklessly in a nearby town park.
No one was injured, but Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Gardaí say the incident happened shortly before 9pm last Friday, September 25th, when a firework went through an open window of a second-floor apartment in Shannon Town Centre.
It set fire to net curtains hanging from the window, but the person inside the apartment managed to put out the fire quickly.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed fireworks being set off in the area, or who has any information, to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365 900.
They’re also warning that fireworks can be unpredictable and pose an immediate risk to people and property when set off recklessly.
