Doctor Warns Of Bleak Future For Clare GP Care Unless “Serious Issues Addressed”

A Clare doctor says the future of GP care in rural areas of the county will be bleak unless serious issues are addressed.

It comes as a new report from the Department of Health has shown that Clare will need as many as 41 new General Practitioners by 2030 to cope with retirements and population growth.

It also showed that East Clare has less than one GP for every 3,000 people in the region, 63% below the national average.
