An extreme shortage of zoned land in Clare is said to be holding back developers from addressing the county’s housing crisis.
Fitzpatrick and Heavey Group, which already has over 500 homes under construction nationwide, is seeking out sites for development in Clare but claims it’s unable to find suitable zoned land.

The Department of Housing published new planning guidelines in July intended to encourage local authorities to zone additional areas for residential development.
