It’s claimed family carers across Clare are more at risk to long term illnesses and disabilities due to a lack of respite breaks.
It comes as Family Carers Ireland has claimed Government has failed to fully deliver on any of its 34 commitments in the first full year of office.

The charity notes that in some instances, such as waiting times for assessments and availability of services, supports have worsened over the course of the past year.
Family Carers Ireland Care support manager for Clare and North Tipp, Vicky Ward, says carers in rural parts of the county are particularly disadvantaged.
