Clare householders opposed to the government’s household charge are being urged to attend a public meeting in Shannon today.
People have until 31 March to register for the 100 levy and already thousands of homeowners have forked out the money
Those who don’t pay, face fines or a court appearance, however opponents are confident that 50 percent of householders will not register for the charge.
Shannon Resident and single father of one Chris Quinn has organised a meeting in Tullyvarraga Hall at 1.30 today for those against the levy.
He was recently reduced to a three day working week at Servisair in Shannon Airport and says he simply cant afford to pay the charge and will accept the consquences
