Gardaí in Clare are reminding people that everyone has a role to play in keeping animals, land and communities safe during the heatwave.
People are being urged to stay hydrated, avoid the hottest part of the day between 11am and 3pm, and never leave children, older people or pets in parked cars.
Animal owners are advised to provide plenty of fresh water and shade and not to transport animals during the hottest part of the day, while motorists are also being reminded not to block access for emergency services at beaches and lakes.
Sergeant Edel Bourke is also reminding people that, with an Orange Fire Risk Warning in place, they should avoid lighting fires or barbecues in high-risk areas.
