Clare All Ireland Winning Coach Claims Short Choice Necessary To Maintain Player Retention

An All Ireland winning Clare camogie coach feels giving players a choice of skort or shorts must be implemented to avoid losing players from the game.

A vote will be held on the matter at a Special Congress on May 22nd, with a recent survey of intercounty players showing an 85% preference for having the option of either attire.

The Munster Camogie Association are currently debating a possible switch of their provincial final until after that date, with both Cork and Waterford outlining their intention to wear shorts for tomorrow’s game.

Ann Marie McGann, who was part of the Clare management team who won the All Ireland Premier Junior crown, says delegates must vote in a manner which is mandated by the players.
