A Clare animal shelter says it’s services won’t be fully functional for at least 6 weeks following a highly contagious viral outbreak.
It’s after feline panleucopaenia was detected at the An Cat Dubh Sanctuary at Cloonlaheen near Miltown Malbay last week.

The airborne condition which attacks white blood cells has already led to the temporary closure of the service and the death of several cats and kittens at the centre.
An Cat Dubh Founder Dr Rhona Lucas says the centre has never had an event like this in it’s 20 years.
