More than 100 social housing offers have been refused in Clare since 2019.
Figures obtained from the Department of Housing show a total of 109 Banner residents turned down a social housing offer from the local authority in the last four years.

2020 saw the greatest refusal rate with 36 Clare residents declining a social residence, this figure dropped by over 50% to 17 in 2021 before rebounding to 24 refusals last year.
Meanwhile 5 people have been suspended from Clare’s social housing waiting lists since 2018 for refusing more than one offer.
Director of Advocacy at Focus Ireland, Mike Allen, says offers must reflect the needs of the applicant.
