There's a repeat of the 2013 All Ireland Final in store in the second round of All Ireland Qualifiers. Davy Fitzgerald's Clare side will take on Jimmy Barry Murphy's Cork, after the Rebels overcame Wexford in Round One. The game will also mark the first time the Banner feature on Sky Sports, with the game set to be broadcast live on Saturday evening – exclusively on Sky Sports. Michael Malty McDonagh Chairman of the County Board gave us his view on the match being only available on Sky Sports explaining that he believes noone should have to pay to see our Championship games. It is not what the GAA Association is about. However, in London Lissycasey Native Kevin O'Malley welcomes the news that GAA Fans including himself and others living abroad will be able to see the game live.

The East Clare woman who has lived longer than any other Irish person has died. Feakle-native Kathleen Snavely, was born as Kathleen Hayes on February 16th, 1902. At the age of 19, she travelled alone to the US where she set up life and became a successful businesswoman. In recent years, she had lived at a nursing home in New York State and it was there that she passed away yesterday at the age of 113 years and 140 days. Kathleen Snavely was the 16th oldest person in the world, and in March she formally became the longest-living person to have been born on this island. FF Cllr Pat Hayes Kathleen's cousin spoke to us about her extraordinary life.

Lissycasey's John O Malley Chairman of Fergus Rovers Ladies Club and responsible for looking after the community's Difibulators contacted us regarding an incident on Sunday whereby a gentleman was travelling from Kilkee to Limerick and came into difficulty with his heart (a suspected heart attack) while driving – he and his partner stopped at Taltys Mace in Lissycasey and customers came to their assistance, one local running to the nearby GAA pitch to get the defibrillator – however, discovered the protective glass broken and the difibulator gone – John was contacted to get another, which he did from Lissycasey Church – in the end the gentleman did not need it but nonetheless these community difibulators are very important, they were fundraised for and cost an estimate €1100, John wants to appeal to anyone with info, the person responsible may return it.

Denise has lost an astonding 7 st in the past 5 years and has since ran 2 half marathons as inspired by her boyfriend Mark. She says realizing that life is short, it is important to live it to the best of our ability and says we can all find an exercise that we enjoy such as walking with friends in the evening or attending a class together along with adopting a healthy diet and not depriving ourselves of any one food category.
