The Reds are without Gerhard van der Heever for their first European Champions Cup game.
The winger won't play in either Saturday's meeting with Treviso, or the following week's trip to Stade Francais after being handed a two-week ban.
Van der Heever received the ban for a dangerous tackle he made in last week's win over Edinburgh.
Elsewhere, Antony Foley has handed CJ Stander the captaincy for the opener.
Stander says there has been a big step-up in training this week – and the Reds are ready for the French side.
