There’s been a 10% increase in the cost of a home in Clare in the last year.
The latest report from the Central Statistics Office shows there was a sharp decline in the number of transactions when compared to July 2025.
Just 53 transactions were completed in July, less than half the 107 recorded in 2025.
€331,000 was the average price paid in Clare for a house, up from the €300,000 that was recorded 12 months previous.
Shannon recorded the highest jump in house prices in Clare, with buyers paying an average of €310,000 in July, an annual increase of €50,000.
However, Ennis remained the most expensive area of the county to purchase a house, with prices reaching an average of €335,000.
€250,000 was the average price paid for a house in the west of the county, which represents a near 20% increase in a 12 month span.
More than half of the transactions completed were by first time buyers, with 32 properties sold to new home owners.
