Michael Meere grew up on a farm in Kildysart, Co Clare. After school, he worked as a mechanic in Ennis.
In 2001 Michael was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash and the challenges that resulted from that accident weren’t the last he would face.
He was advised to change profession so he returned to education, first to Ennis Community College.
Michael now sits on the boards of Independent Living Movement Ireland and the National Learning Network.
He is also a disability quality trainer with Disability Federation Ireland and a member of the Clare Leader Forum.
Michael is very aware of the importance of education and inclusion for anyone with a disability.
