The County Grounds in Doora will be named after the late former chairman Frank Healy.

The move to rename the County Grounds in Frank's honour was announced at the AGM of the Clare Soccer League, with chairman Oliver Fitzpatrick confirming it would happen early in the new season.

Frank was a key figure in securing the land to develop the grounds, and served for a number years as chairman and registrar of the league along with various other positions.

He passed away in 2015 following a short illness.

Frank Healy Park is set to be unveiled this coming Friday at 7pm, with the CEO of the FAI John Delaney among those who will be in attendance.

The ceremony will be followed by a league game between his home club Kilmaley Fern Celtic and Manus Celtic.
