Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage by fire at a house in Shannon.
At around 5.30 in the early hours of yesterday morning, two youths approached the front door of a home in Inis Ealga, threw liquid on it and then set it alight.

Units from Clare County Fire Service, based in Shannon, attended the scene, where they found the householder on the roof of a garden shed at the rear of the property after escaping the home.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information on the two youths involved, or who may have witnessed unusual activity in the area overnight on Monday to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365 900.
