The wheels have been set in motion to establish a neighbourhood watch group in a Shannon community.
Residents of Ballycasey are seeking to come together to form a community watch group to transmit alerts and safety messages via social media as Gardaí are not currently able to do so.

The group would serve to update local residents on suspicous activity in the area such as potential break-ins or fraudulent tradespeople operating in the area.
Shannon resident, Niamh O’Callaghan, is hoping the community watch group will be proactive rather than reactive.
