Clare County Council is being urged to back calls for publicly funded third level education in Ireland.
The Union of Students in Ireland has made a presentation to the local authority outlining their view that moving towards an income-contingent loan based system would be detrimental to students’ financial futures.

The local authority has yet to make a final decision on the USI’s call to pressure local Oireachtas members to make their stance known.
Jimmy McGovern is the USI’s Border, Midlands and Western region Vice President – he says the decision of county councils will be vital.
