Ukrainian Refugee Says Ennis Sports Club Allowed Her To Rebuild A Social Life

A Ukrainian refugee who founded a new sports club in Ennis says the help and kindness of the Clare people has allowed her to re-establish a social life.

Annastasia Goriva was forced to flee her homeland of Kiev last May following months of the Russian invasion.

Upon arriving in the county town ,she founded social volleyball club Sunflowers VC , the group which practices weekly at Coláiste Muire , now has over 20 memebers and has gained official recognition from Volleyball Ireland.

Anastasia says her new recreational pursuit has allowed the Ukrainian community here to reconnect.
