Management at Trump’s West Clare golf resort has said a US Presidential visit to Doonbeg during the Irish Open is doubtful.
There has been a broad welcome to news that the golfing tournament will take place there from September 10th to 13th and will feature some of the world’s top golfers competing on one of Ireland’s most renowned courses.
When held in Lahinch in 2019, the Irish Open generated over ten million euro for the local economy and the General Manager of Trump International Golf Links Hotel Doonbeg expects a significantly higher boost for West Clare next year.
Joe Russell has told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that while it’s too early to say whether Donald Trump will visit during the tournament, it’s unlikely, given the scale of the operation that would be required.
