Over 450 housing units were granted planning permission between April and June of this year.
This is despite less individual applications being given the green light when compared to the same time in 2025.
Planning permission was granted for 469 housing units in Clare between April and June of this year.
57 indivudial applications were allowed to proceed by the local authority, six less than was seen in 2025.
Despite this permission was granted for 341 more housing units than the second quarter of last year.
416 of the units that received planning permission were multi-development houses, while 53 one-off houses and five apartments also received the green light.
Meanwhile, construction activity across Clare stalled drastically in August.
Just 17 commencement notices were lodged with the Department of Housing last month.
It follows a month in which Clare recorded its third highest commencement figure ever in July, when 128 housing projects got underway.
Last month’s figure is still an increase on the activity seen during the same time period in 2025, when just 16 commencement notices were filed.
Of the housing projects that began last month, 12 were one off units, five were scheme homes, while work began on no apartment projects.
