Tributes have been paid to the Director of Glór who has passed away following a sudden illness.
42-year-old Gemma Carcaterra had been at the helm of the facility for over five years.
Ms. Carcaterra has been steeped in theatre since a young age.
Born in Wolverhampton in the UK, where her parents ran a theatre, Gemma completed a BA in Applied Arts at Derby University, specialising in furniture design, followed by an MA in Industrial Design at Birmingham University.
After being made redundant in 2003, Gemma and her Irish husband Colm moved to New Zealand and from there travelled to Australia and Australia before moving back to Ireland where she was appointed the Chair of Daghdha Dance in Limerick.
The 42-year-old has served as Director of Glór in Ennis since October 2011 and news of her passing has been met with sadness and shock locally.
Chair of the Glór Board, Helen Rackard has expressed her sympathy to Gemma's family saying "she will be very sadly missed by those who worked with her"
Gemma is survived by her husband Colm Clarke, her three children Ava, Rióna and Coen, her parents Rosa and Rob and her brother James.
