A Shannon-based company has received over €6 million in funding for a project which could allow cancer patients to be treated at home.
Gentian Health, which has its headquarters in the Shannon Free Zone, will benefit from a €6.4 million awarded granted as part of a €17 million Government funding announcement.
The electronic medical device firm is part of a consortium behind the LOTUS project which is developing a system that would allow cancer patients to self-administer treatment from the comfort of their own homes.
Kilfenora native and Gentian Health CEO Aidan McMahon says it would enhance patients’ quality of life while also proving to be cost-effective.
