Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport soared this summer, with more than one million people travelling through the Mid-West facility between May and August.
The milestone represents an 11-point-five per cent increase on the same period last year.

The strong summer growth follows a particularly good start to the season, with Shannon named Ireland’s fastest-growing major airport for three consecutive months in May, June and July, according to the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation.
In a statement to Clare FM, Shannon Airport Director Niall Kearns says the strong passenger numbers reflect growing demand across its network, with the focus now on maintaining that momentum into the winter.
